Why I Started Real Savvy Real Estate
January 18, 2010 by Rebecca
When I went through my first real estate transaction in early 2008, I felt really lost. I tried educating myself online, but just ended up feeling even more confused. The realtor I dealt with gave me some advice, but he represented the seller so he really wasn’t on my side. After stumbling through the dark and ending up (thankfully) with a nice condo and reasonable mortgage, I started talking to friends who said they also felt intimidated and confused by real estate. When the real estate bubble burst, it became clear that this confusion was not limited to me and my friends–people all over the country were making choices based on bad information.
I resolved that no one should have to feel so alone and so lost when going through the biggest purchase of their lives. That’s why I started Real Savvy Real Estate. I’m not a realtor nor in any way affiliated with a real estate company. I think that’s important. Not because I don’t trust real estate professionals (some are really excellent resources), but because I believe everyone needs an experienced friend to hold their hand throughout the process–someone to make sure they’re thinking clearly, following their instincts, and benefiting from quality information. I didn’t have that, but you will. Real Savvy Real Estate aims to demystify real estate and empower buyers to make the best decisions possible.
Helping people and social good aside, the other reason I started this site is because things like this:
make my heart go all aflutter. I love looking at and thinking about real estate. I love digging into the details of how people make gorgeous homes like this happen. It’s fun for me, and I’m happy I get to share my passion with you.

At RSRE, we know how intimidating it can be to even consider buying a home, and we hope to help demystify the process, give helpful unbiased advice, and inspire you along the way. [
